In LINUX 32bit and amd64 I only am successful with the 32 bit firmware driver bcmwl5.sys. In BSD 32bit only bcmwl5.sys / bcmwl5.inf work(which are 32 bit ). Nothing works with BSD 64bit. Not for me anyway. I have even used Ubuntu and had the OS Hardware Tool download the firmware. The used the apsta...

I have been experimenting over the past year with PCBSD and DesktopBSD. On each I have problems with my Broadcom 43xx Wireless driver. The problem is they are not recognized. The solution is to use the Windows Drivers bcmwl5.inf and bcmwl5.sys with ndisgen and generate a bcmwl5_sys.ko BSD driver. Th...

Everything working HiDef video, sound, NIC etc and is dual booting with LINUX as BSD sits on the 2nd Slice. However as I posted no wifi so I took th...

I have to comment that one of the virtues of version 1.6 that really impressed me was it's Speed. And that includes r...

So have you deleted the contents of /usr/ports/ftp/wget or what is the exact path of the directory deleted? dellboy My bad in my haste I did not note that you had emptied the dir w/o putting the source back. So you can't make what you don't h...

Some type of build problem.
Just type
Code:
make

See what errors you get to narrow down the problem.

I don't want to say this but............
if you had reinstalled a week ago you would be done with this....

If the built in driver is not working you can always try to generate one with ndisgen using your Windows Wifi wireless drivers. ....These are some instructions I posted in PCBSD Basically use your Win wifi drivers in this example bcmwl5.inf and bcmwl5.sys. Code: su cd to the drivers directory ndisge...

See if this is of any help.
I am not on BSD at the moment to check this......
FreeBSD uses fetch instead of wget, which some applications expect to find. To install wget, run this:
Code:
# cd /usr/ports/ftp/wget

# make install clean

# rehash

,so a reinstall is the only cure in my case No, I just was saying that is sometimes the shortest route timewise. You can try purging the pkg with pkg_delete which runs the pkg_deinstall script and then adding it back again with pkg_add perhaps that will clear things up depending on what is damaged....

This why backup so important! Even a quick and dirty backup of the /home dir periodically to a USB key will do. Anyway to my knowledge, deleted items are generally those first reused in a UNIX system. If you can't seemed to get wget corrected and Unless this is an old system backup /home and reinsta...
