Hi all,
I am installing DesktopBSD for the first time and Im having an issue which Ive got no idea what it means or what to do.
It happens after the graphical interface/installation starts (nb, I had to ctrl-alt-backspace to get the monitor config right). I click next to install, and it seems that when it goes to do the hardware side of install I get the following message that just keeps scrolling down the page, and the cdrom remains active the whole time, it has been about half hour now. I had a similar error before, and it didnt make it to the welcome to DesktopBSD screen, the system rebooted itself I went through the processes again and here I am now. The error is as follows:
acd0: FAILURE - READ_BIG MEDIUM ERROR asc=0x11 ascq=0x00 g_vfs_done () :iso 9660/DesktopBSD[READ (offset=673886208, length=2048)] error = 5 vm_fault: pager read error, pid 1 (init)
This error just keeps repeating itself and doesnt seem to go any further.
The hardware in the system is as follows:
MSI pm8m - vh ms7104 ver 3.0 m/b 2.8ghz P4 cpu Sapphire Radeon 9200se 128mb agp graphics 256mb ddr ram Lite-On dvdrw drive Western Digital WD 1200 120gb ide hdd
Any help would be much appreciated,
Thanks
